PROJECT: California Solar Initiative
In support of the $3 billion solar incentive program, the California Solar Initiative, Energy Solutions works as the systems integrator for the program’s online rebate application system. Our team crafted the system’s technical specifications and managed its implementation, providing testing, training and coordination services. We continue to maintain the system and support its use across the three California Investor-owned Utility territories. The rebate application system provides program administrators with the ability to effectively manage the flow of applications and accurately report program statistics, which facilitates program participation and helps to minimize administrative costs. Energy Solutions also built the program’s official public reporting web site, www.CaliforniaSolarStatistics.ca.gov, which provides the public with real-time program-specific information.
PROJECT: PG&E Vendor Rebates
Energy Solutions developed a Vendor Rebates Processing System for PG&E for management of third party energy efficiency program implementers. This front end tool significantly reduces application and invoice processing time for PG&E’s vendor-driven energy efficiency rebate programs. The tool provides Program Managers and Vendors with real-time reporting and data access in order to invoice and track the data that is submitted via the web processing system. Additional benefits of this tool include:
- Enables uniform predictable processing times
- Eases and streamlines invoice submission process
- Enables vendors to either submit high volumes of invoices and measures with minimal time and effort via a bulk data load functionality or enter/edit measures on an item by item basis
- Reduces customer support issues by providing real-time on-line status and help
PROJECT: Multistate Compliance Database
Working for the Appliance Standards Awareness Project (ASAP), Energy Solutions developed an online database to certify products, such as pool pumps, refrigerators, freezers, and DVD players that meet appliance standards across the states of California, Connecticut, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington. The database leverages California’s existing certification process to document equipment performance specifications and then compares each product to individual state’s efficiency standards to provide customized product lists that meet each jurisdiction’s eligibility requirements. This process handles variation in code requirements across the jurisdictions and facilitates easy screening when code updates occur. The Multi-State Compliance Database is currently being expanded to include additional states, information on state appliance standards and a user-friendly searchable product directory.
PROJECT: California Green Business Certification Program
Energy Solutions specified, developed and maintains an online database of certified California green businesses on behalf of the California Green Business Program Network (CAGBN). The CAGBN program certifies businesses that meet higher standards for environmental performance and provides individuals with the resources to green their businesses. Energy Solutions developed an online database that allows CAGBN to manage data, track business information and reliably measure program effectiveness. These database capabilities provide the CAGBN with the tools critical to the continued operation and growth of its green business certification program.
